What it is

A document-assembly tool for a simple estate.

Will Desk asks you a few questions and puts your answers into a will document. You print it, then sign it on paper in front of two witnesses. That signing is what makes it valid, and the checklist takes you through it.

It checks your witnesses against the people named in your will, and flags a witness who also inherits before anyone signs. It explains each option in plain words and leaves every choice to you.

Who it is for

For a simple estate under South African law.

You, if your estate is simple: no trust to set up, no property or accounts outside South Africa, no business share that needs special handling, and nobody likely to challenge the will.

The first screen checks. If any of those is true for you, Will Desk stops there and says why. An attorney who drafts wills and handles deceased estates can write a will for your situation.

How it works

Three steps, in the browser you already have.

  1. Step one

    Check your estate fits

Answer yes or no to a short list. If anything on it is true for you, Will Desk stops before your will is started.

  2. Step two

    Answer the questions

Your executor, your heirs, a guardian for your children. Your answers become standard will wording on numbered pages, with a signature line on each one.

  3. Step three

    Print, sign, witness

Print the will and sign it in front of two witnesses, who sign too. The signing checklist covers each step, and the witness check runs before you print.

Questions

What people ask first.

Is a will from Will Desk valid?

A will becomes valid once it is printed and signed on paper in front of two witnesses, who sign too. It is never valid on screen. Will Desk gives you the document and the checklist for the signing.

Does Heferon see what I type?

No. Your answers stay on your device and nothing you type is sent to Heferon. Once printing is on sale, paying for it sends the email you type for the receipt to Paystack, the payment provider.

Is this legal advice?

No. Will Desk is a document-assembly tool. Heferon is not a law firm, and nobody here is an attorney. It explains the options in plain words and does not tell you what to choose.

What if my estate is not simple?

Will Desk stops at the first screen and says why. A trust, assets outside South Africa, a business interest that needs special handling, a joint will, or a will someone is likely to challenge all need a will written for your situation.

What does printing cost?

Drafting, the preview and the checks are free. Printing is one payment per will, with reprints on the same device for a year. The price is in the plans above, and the app shows it before you start.
